Prime Locations

Since 1978 Wilkinson Development has been in the real estate development business in Nebraska. We have developed properties along the I-80 corridor in Lincoln, Grand Island, Lexington, North Platte, Ogallala and Sidney. Our real estate portfolio includes hotels, shopping centers, and convenience stores.

Nine Locations Across Nebraska

Our original Fat Dogs brand delivers dependability from one end of the state to the other – with locations spanning I-80 from Lincoln to Sidney. North Platte and Ogallala host an expanded Travel Center, designed with frequent travelers and professional drivers in mind. The newly constructed Travel Centers offer skill games, a lounge area, laundry, showers, auto and truck accessories. The Travel Centers offer a wide range of quick service food offerings including Hot Stuff Pizza and Subs, Subway and Hardees.
Lexington, Lincoln and Grand Island are next up for expanded Travel Centers. Lexington will be completed in the early spring of 2023. We are currently looking for tenants for these locations. Our newly acquired Time Saver convenience stores in North Platte offer two additional locations for fuel, beverages, and food. Located just south of I-80 Exit 177, our Time Saver South location is undergoing a renovation to the diesel pumps and will offer expanded diesel options in the spring of 2023. Our Time Saver North location now offers expanded hot food options.
Fuel prices are as important to us as they are to our customers. Wilkinson Fuel Carriers delivers fuel to all of our locations daily.

Midwest Hospitality

Since 1994, Wilkinson Companies has owned and operated hotels in Nebraska. You might say we know a thing or two about the hospitality industry. Although the industry continues to evolve every day, one thing stays the same: customer service is as valuable now as it was then.
We pride ourselves on delivering the best in Midwest hospitality. Our current hotel brands include the Holiday Inn Express in North Platte, the Best Western Plus in North Platte and Comfort Inn & Suites in Lexington.
We also own a smaller original brand called the North Platte Inn & Suites designed with extended stays in mind.
Food, Beverage + Catering Services

Our chef and friendly staff have some serious talent with over 35 years in food, beverage and catering services. Our Mid Plains Food + Lodging team is formerly the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center team who were known for extravagant social and business events. Events as large as 400 people are nothing new to our team. Allow us to be a part of your next event from the beginning to the end. During the pandemic, the Holiday Inn Express Conference Center was closed allowing us to shift our business strategy to compliment the hotel. This property is in planning and development stage for restaurant and bar to be constructed. A landlord capital investment package will be included in rent terms. Fully engineered plans are available as BLOCK Grill + Tavern concept, or lessee may choose to use their own concept. Plans seat 250 patrons inside, plus additional seating in outside patio area.
